Where I Live......

Our Babies
My Hobby
My biggest hobby is to learn foreign languages. I speak Mandarin, English is my second language, and my goal is to speak and write in French at a very proficient level. I've learned French totally on my own, starting from grammar, very simple French songs, then to reading newspaper and to watching TVs. I found those are interesting ways to learn a language but amateur. Now my French communication is quite fluent. But eventually, I want to take courses and make myself seriously dedicated to it.
About Me
My Name is Helen Gong. Currently, I am enjoying a one year long maternity leave. Time passes so fast. I can't believe there are only two months left before going back to work. I still vividly remember the happiness of being pregnant. Gourmet food was the only daydream in my mind, although I had difficulty to drag around myself because of 50 pounds extra weight. My son Felix was born in May 2009, an experience I can never forget. Now He's almost 10 months. He starts getting very adventurous and loves to play "driving mommy crazy" game. I've been constantly working in the past 8 years. It is my first time taking a long break. I enjoy so much being with my baby boy and cooking for my wonderful husband.
How can I forget about lovely Ellie. She is 3 year old mix breed between American Eskimo and Collie. Kind of barky and jealous sometimes, but She shares so much love from all of us.
My husband Patrick designed and built his dream house. It's about 30 minutes away from downtown Toronto. We are moving in next month. He still has great plans to continue renovating it, especially his man's cave. But for now, the most important thing for us is to make it baby friendly.
MET648 is my 2nd online course with BU. I had a little bit confusion in the first course as I have never taken online class before. But it turned out to be a great experience. My bachelor's degree is engineering in Metallurgy. MS in IMM is equally challenging but much more interesting for me.
